Lissa Boutique Moves to River North

Imagine traveling the world to pick out the most unique pieces from up-and-coming designers in exotic and interesting locales like Sweden, Brazil and Australia. Well, that’s exactly what the uber-cool, yet down-to-earth proprietor of Lissa boutique, Melissa Shipley, does. Having recently relocated the boutique from Maxwell Street to the bustling River North area, “Lissa” and her mother/sidekick threw a festive Saturday night in-store celebration that was filled with fun, food, family and devotees of her carefully edited selection. Highlights included great conversations, fabulous clothes and an impromptu fashion show starring the customers who couldn’t resist trying on her hard-to-find garments.

In addition to introducing emerging international designers to the Chicago market, Lissa also carries local designers like Abigail Glaum-Lathbury, who showcased her architectural and expertly tailored pieces at the party. Abigail embraces the creative relationship that working with boutiques can foster, and her designs were right at home with the other conversation-starting pieces in this cutting-edge yet unpretentious environment.

Lissa is located at 750 N. Franklin Street in Chicago.
